July 9 - September 24
Balfolk for the whole summer invites everyone on Tuesdays in Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza for two hours of dancing!
In case of rain, don’t be afraid, we will dance under the porches!
Dancing means expressing and sharing without words our body and our emotions, it means listening and understanding who is next to us, without having to ask anything. And above all, it’s fun!
But why “Balfolk“?
The name is French, like many of the dances we practice. But the world of Balfolk is much more varied: there are Iberian, Irish, English, Greek and Italian dances. Not only in Europe, but also in Quebec and the vast world of Middle Eastern dances.
Are there also couple dances? Of course, these are the traditional folk dances that you already know: the Polka, the Scottish, the Waltz, the Mazurka, and many others. They are intuitive dances, with simple steps and space for your sensitivity.
What if I can’t dance? Don’t worry! Come anyway! We’ve all been there. We are not a folk group that has to perform in shows. Folk dances are easy to learn and open to everyone, without distinction of skill. We want to have fun together!
