“Beauty and body care in antiquity”

The exhibition “Beauty and body care in ancient times“, dedicated to female charm and body care in the ancient world, particularly in Roman times, will be inaugurated on Thursday 25 October at 5 pm at the Archaeological Museum of the Roman Theatre.
There will be about 140 objects that will find space in the windows of the museum, earrings, rings, pendants that indicated the welfare or social position of those who wore them, but also a space dedicated to Venus, the goddess of beauty, and her companions Amorini, with tools for the care of the body, such as Etruscan and Roman mirrors and needles ridges to fix the hairstyles, as well as a wide selection of tools used for sports and medical-surgical practices, such as ointments and perfumes with therapeutic properties.
The exhibition will be open until September 2019, with opening hours: Monday from 13.30 to 19.30; Tuesday to Sunday from 8.30 to 19.30 (last admission at 18.30).
