Exhibition “Radici. The earth-The sea-The fire”
March 15 - April 14
The exhibition “Radici. The earth-The sea-The fire” will be held at Palazzo Angeli in Padua.
This is a great tribute to the epic world of manual labor from the beginning, to human creativity and its divine spark. The project was created by photographers Emanuele Scicolone and Gianluca Sgarriglia between 2015 and 2018.
In the exhibition set up inside the historic rooms of Palazzo Angeli, the authors exhibit about 60 photographs: from the boats of the fishermen of the Po Delta to the white gold of the salt pans, from the bronze cast and boiling like lava in the foundries of the bells to the shipwrights of the last Squeri in the Venetian islands, the exhibition is an adventurous journey into a world made of heroes, of multitudes of men and women who hold magic weapons. A world that still makes us feel so deeply human.
The photographic project also aims to give new hope to the new generations of young people who are increasingly disillusioned because of the impossibility or precariousness of Italian work. It is in craftsmanship that a young person can find his or her future, in cultivation, in manual labour, in quality, in uniqueness, in the inventiveness that has distinguished us for centuries.
