“The Triumph of Colour. From Tiepolo to Canaletto and Guardi. Vicenza and the Masterpieces from the Puskin Museum in Moscow”

The masterpieces of the great XVIII century season of Venetian art heritage of the Pushkin Museum in Moscow return exceptionally to Italy to be admired from 23 November to 10 March in the exhibition “The Triumph of Colour. From Tiepolo to Canaletto and Guardi. Vicenza and the Masterpieces from the Pushkin Museum in Moscow“.
The exhibition will take place at Palazzo Chiericati, home of the Civic Museum and at the Gallerie d’Italia – Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Intesa Sanpaolo’s museum in Vicenza where the Madonna with Saints Ludovico di Tolosa, Antonio di Padova and Francesco di Assisi by Giambattista Tiepolo will be exhibited, framed by the collection of XVIII century Venetian paintings kept in the Palazzo Vicentino, including the famous corpus of paintings by Pietro Longhi.
The curator is Victoria Markova, head of the Department of Italian Culture of the Pushkin Museum, together with Prof. Stefano Zuffi, art historian with the scientific advice of Prof. Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa.
The paintings coming from Pushkin will be co-protagonists of a fascinating narration with thirty works of the same scope and period, selected from the extensive heritage of the Civic Museums of Vicenza, rich in over 50,000 pieces, and from the heritage of Intesa Sanpaolo preserved at Palazzo Leoni Montanari, Vicenza headquarters of the Gallerie d’Italia of Intesa Sanpaolo.
You can enjoy the beauty of their works in the two locations of the exhibition but also in churches, palaces and villas of the city and the area. Walking along the itineraries specially developed by the organizers.
The exceptionality of this exhibition is given by the possibility to contemplate, all together, more than fifty masterpieces of which a significant part appears in the manuals of art history.
