Dolci del Santo

The Basilica of Saint Anthony is one of the Catholic Church’s most popular saints. It is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, patron saint of lost and stolen articles, was a powerful Franciscan preacher and teacher.

Here in Padua you will find two different desserts made in honor of Saint Anthony:

  • Dolce del Santo
  • Amarettoni di Sant’Antonio

Dolce del Santo, Dolce Sant’Antonio, is a baked dessert.

It is stuffed with apricot jam, candied orange peel, sponge cake, almond marzipan or blackberries, all wrapped in puff pastry.

Its shape reminds the aureole of St. Anthony.

It is produced in different sizes: 70 gr (mignon), 400 gr and 700 gr.
