Padovana dal gran ciuffo

Padovana dal gran ciuffo is an ancient breed of small crested and bearded chicken from the city and surrounding of Padua.

In 1300 Giacomo Dondi Dell’Orologio brought some hens to Padua from Poland.

This meat is darker than the traditional chicken one, delicate and tasty.

It is used to prepare typical dishes such as l’Oca in onto and Falso Parsuto, that is goose ham.
