La Biennale di Venezia is one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world.
It is an arts organization based in Venice and the name of the original and principal biennial exhibition the organization presents.
The organization changed its name to the Biennale Foundation in 2009, while the exhibition is now called the Art Biennale to distinguish it from the organization and other exhibitions the Foundation organizes.
The Biennale promotes new artistic trends; it organizes important international art and architecture exhibitions in the venues of the Giardini and the Arsenale, and its Venice International Film Festival, as well as its Music, Theatre and more recent Dance Festivals rank among the finest in the world.
