In the courtyard of the church of Santa Maria Antica, you will see the famous Arche Scaligere.
This is a funerary complex that houses the tombs of the most important members of the Della Scala family.
In particular, you will find the tombs of Mastino II, Cansignorio and Cangrande I, to whom Dante dedicated the Paradise of his Comedy.
An imposing iron gate protects the monument but from June to September it is possible to visit the interior.
Address: via Arche Scaligere, 1.
