The Museum of Castelvecchio is one of the most important museums in Verona, dedicated mainly to Italian and European art.
The museum was built between 1354 and 1357 by Cangrande II of the ruling Della Scala family; then it was restored and set up with modern criteria between 1958 and 1974 by Carlo Scarpa.
It is divided in different sectors: sculpture, Italian and foreign painting, antique weapons, ceramics, gold and silverware, miniatures and the ancient bells of the city.
Address: Corso Castelvecchio, 2.
