Verona Arena

The Verona Arena is considered an icon and the symbol of the city together with Juliet Capulet’s house.

It is a Roman Amphitheatre in Piazza Bra in Verona, built in the first century BC.

According to many medieval legends, it was constructed by the devil because of the enormous size, for which it seemed impossible that human beings could build it.

The Verona Arena is still in use today. With its 30,000 seats and perfect acoustics, in the summer season it becomes the largest open-air opera house in the world hosting the famous Opera Festival.

Address: Piazza Bra, 1.
