Palazzo del Monte di Pietà is a monumental complex built between the XV and XVII centuries in Vicenza, in Piazza dei Signori.
It incorporates the church of San Vincenzo in its central part.
The building was created by the Municipality of Vicenza and officially opened on June 12, 1486 with the simultaneous establishment of a pawnshop in the church of San Vincenzo, which became then property of the Monte.
In 1700 Francesco Muttoni’s interventions contributed to the enlargement of the Church and to the creation of a Hall for the Palace.
Subsequently, the municipal library, named “Bertoliana” in honor of its founder, was located here.
Address: Contrà del Monte 13.
